2021 – winners are here
In 2021 there was only a limited Edinburgh Fringe with mainly online entries. The Asian Art Awards for Best Show went to Coordinated Distance / A Part of Empties by Teruki Okamoto of Japan. And Pán by T.H.E. Human Expression Dance Company from Singapore won Best Performance.
2022 – winners are here
In 2022, as the Fringe continued to revive itself after the pandemic, we were unable to hold an award ceremony but had a limited award programme of two awards. A Something! No Dragon No Lion! by TS Crew from Hong Kong won Best Show and The Same Boat by tarinainanika from Japan won Best Performance.

In November 2022 the Asian Art Fund Scotland awarded their Global Art Promotion prize to the Northern Kunqu Opera Theatre. The prize was presented to Zhang Jianan at the city chambers by AAA chair Richard Lewis.

Akiko Yanagisawa founder and artistic director of Mu:Arts, was also awarded with a Global Arts Promotion prize for her efforts of maintaining Noh, a form of traditional Japanese theater
